Léňa and Jára had “ordered” sunshine and a pleasant 25°C for their wedding. But the weather had its own plan. On the Tuesday before the wedding, it decided that this September definitely wouldn’t be one of the sunny ones — and within two days, everything was about to switch into the “wet version.”

So… what now? This is exactly the moment when a lot of couples start to panic. But we know that a rainy wedding can still be unforgettable (and sometimes even more so). You just need a Plan B, a calm mind… and a team that can solve things fast.

We basically spent entire days on the phone — calling vendors, fine-tuning logistics, and working with the couple on how to put everything together so the wedding day would still run smoothly in the rain.

When a barn isn’t just a barn

So how did it all turn out? Instead of a sunny ceremony in a meadow, we hosted the whole thing in an old barn — which, until then, had served more as a storage space for clutter than a wedding venue.

But… when you know how, miracles happen.

From “apocalypse” to a wedding venue in no time

Two days before the wedding, we were standing in a space that still looked like a backroom used for dumping whatever you don’t know what to do with. And then? Suddenly it became a place that could fit absolutely everything — from the ceremony arch to the photo booth corner.

What makes the biggest difference in a moment like this

• making a quick decision about “what goes where” (instead of endlessly debating whether it can be outside)

• a clear layout plan (ceremony / seating / bar / photo booth)

• enough lighting and cozy details to make the barn feel truly “wedding-ready”

A stress-free wedding? Yes — even in the rain

And now something for all brides who fear they’ll spend their wedding day feeling anxious.

On the morning of her wedding, Léňa got up, poured herself a prosecco, had croissants for breakfast, and let the makeup artist pamper her — even though it was pouring outside and the final preparations were happening just beyond the door.

What should the bride do on the wedding day?

Enjoy it. Full stop.

And that’s exactly our job: so the bride doesn’t have to deal with “what ifs,” phone calls, or last-minute moves — but can stay present and calm.

A food truck in the rain? Yes — and it worked brilliantly

If we told you that during the floods we had a food truck booked instead of classic catering — and that it was supposed to serve food outside, straight from the van — you’d probably laugh.

A joke? No. Reality.

But Dog’n’Roll Truck are true pros, and they handled it unbelievably well. No guest had to step out of the barn into the rain — even though the truck was parked at the lower end of the barn, because with the soaked ground they simply couldn’t drive up to the main entrance (or they would’ve gotten stuck there for good).

How it was solved in practice

They brought all the food to set-up tables directly inside the barn. And we won’t lie: guests were licking their lips from ear to ear.

We weren’t done yet: ice cream during a downpour

We had our fair share of paradoxes. A week before the wedding it was 30°C, so ordering ice cream from the local “Zmrzka v Budce” felt like a genius idea — especially since it’s the best ice cream for miles around, and the couple are passionate gelato lovers.

And if you think we cancelled it… we didn’t.

Honestly — in that weather, we barely even needed a freezer. We could’ve just “thrown it behind the door.” Okay, we’re exaggerating. 😄 But jokes like this were flying around all day, and that humor made the atmosphere even better.

We can sum it up simply: a rainy wedding isn’t a problem if you have a team that knows how to handle it.
